Eriko Higuchi (Echo)
I’m Eriko “Echo” Higuchi, an artist and designer from Osaka, Japan. My creative path began with window displays, fashion exhibitions, haute couture dressmaking, and pattern-making.
Since leaving Japan in 2000, I’ve lived and travelled alone across the United States, Mexico. My time with the Huichol community in Mexico had a lasting influence on me, deepening my appreciation for embroidery, ancestral traditions, and detailed craftsmanship.
Today, I work across merchandise, branding, digital content, and interactive performances. I also continue my long-time practices through Dragon’s Backbone and ECHOWEAR, which are gradually becoming part of Datagrama Clothing.
I love creating work that brings together nature, craftsmanship, technology, and a little bit of magic.
